1. 口語中說Sorry或I’m sorry有以下用法：

　　(1) 為自己所做的事情麻煩、打擾或傷害他人而道歉。如：

　　Sorry I kept you waiting. 對不起，讓你久等了。

　　Sorry I didn’t phone last night―I was at the theatre. 抱歉，昨天晚上我沒打電話――我看戲去了。

　　(2) 請求別人原諒自己所做的粗魯或令人尷尬的事。如：

　　I’m sorry, but you’re not taking my car. 對不起，你不能用我的汽車。

　　Sorry, madam, we’re closing up for lunch. 很抱歉，小姐，我們現(xiàn)在要關(guān)門吃午飯。

　　(3) 用于禮貌地打斷別人的話。如：

　　I’m sorry, but I’m going to interrupt. 我很抱歉，但我要打擾一下。

　　(4) 用于禮貌地表示沒聽清對方的話或請求對方重復(fù)所說的內(nèi)容。如：

　　Sorry, I didn’t quite catch what you said. 對不起，我沒聽清你的話。

　　(5) 用于糾正自己在講話中的錯誤。如：

　　You need to catch the number 3, sorry, the number 23 bus to Market Street. 你需要乘坐3路，哦不是，是23路公共汽車去市場街。

　　2. 口語中說I’m sorry, but…（對不起，……），其中的but不宜換成and。如：

　　I’m sorry, but I don’t share your opinion. 對不起，您的意見我不能同意。

　　I am sorry, but I can’t hear you. 對不起，我聽不見你說的話。

　　3. 用于say sorry to，表示“向……道歉”。如

　　Susan said sorry to Jim with confession. 蘇珊滿面羞容地向吉姆道歉。

　　I have to say sorry to you. Our manager is away on business. 很抱歉，我們經(jīng)理出差了。

　　4. 后接動詞不定式時，根據(jù)情況既可表示動作將要發(fā)生，也可表示動作已經(jīng)發(fā)生。如：

　　I’m sorry to say that we have no news. 我很抱歉地告訴你，我們沒得到消息。

　　I’m sorry to keep you up so late. 很抱歉讓你這么晚還不能睡。

　　但是，如果不定式用了完成式，則一定表示動作已經(jīng)發(fā)生。如：

　　I’m sorry to have given you so much trouble. 對不起，給你添了這么多麻煩。

　　若后接for [about] doing sth，則通常表示對已發(fā)生的動作表示遺憾。如：

　　I’m sorry for breaking your window. 對不起，我打碎了你的窗戶。

　　I’m sorry for [about] losing my temper this morning. 很抱歉，早晨我發(fā)了脾氣。

　　若要強調(diào)動作已經(jīng)完成，也可動名詞的完成式。如：

　　I’m sorry for having wasted your time. 我很抱歉浪費了你的時間。
